New Shopify website for Barry Island Gifts

mugWe were asked to design an ecommerce website for Nessa’s Slots in Barry Island, which appeared on the Gavin & Stacey hit tv show.   The arcade was the filming location for Nessa’s scenes at the Island.

Today Nessa’s Slots is a popular family attraction with fans of the show visiting from across the UK. They sell a variety of Gavin and Stacey gifts and merchandise which is very popular.

It was decided to expand by offering the gifts for sale via an online shop.

The new website was built using Shopify, which makes it easy for the client to update at any time.

WooCommerce Website with Product Feeds

We were delighted to be asked by Visors Down in Pontyclun to design and build their new online shop website.  Visors Down are Wales’ leading motorbike parts specialists and they sell parts to customers across the UK.   We worked closely with the team at Visors Down to ensure that the new website design reflected their image and was easy for customers to use.

We were also asked to incorporate a product feed which will go live shortly.   Product feeds are an ideal way to add extra products, special offers or promotions from other suppliers or manufacturers.   Feeds can be updated manually or automatically depending on the set up.  We look forward to working with Visors Down in the future.

WordPress Now Powers 39.5% of All Websites

Interesting data released in January 2020 reveals that the popularity of WordPress continues to grow.  Today 39.5% of all the websites in the world are built using WordPress.   Many websites are built with no content management systems.   Looking more closely at the data, it shows that if we just look at websites with built-in content management systems then WordPress has the lion share with 64.1% built with WordPress.   This data is provided by W3Techs which tracks usage statistics of web technologies, including content management systems (CMS), operating systems, web hosting providers, top level domains, and more.

WordPress’ huge share of the market is testament to its easy of use and the seemingly infinite options for customising the websites.   Here at Case Marketing, we also appreciate the lack of bugs which makes the lives of developers so much easier!   We have been using WordPress since its humble days as a blogging platform but these days we use WordPress to build a huge variety of websites from simple ‘online brochures’ to more complex sites featuring ecommerce, social media platforms,  communities, blogs, forums, etc..  Our clients appreciate the fact that they can easily update the sites themselves at any time.
